Torrential rains flood Athens, other islands

Torrential rains hit Athens over only a few hours. This while another monster storm hits the Midwest in the US and heavy snows hit East China. Extreme weather globally is now being called the "new normal" but is anything but. Shifting weather patterns are now putting our global agricultural output in danger and causing economic and social upheaval particularly in poorer areas of the world. This is what obfuscation, political partisanship, ideology, warped political alignments and oil lies have brought us. We simply cannot afford to keep burning oil and thinking it has no effect on our environment and climate.

And considering the economic turmoil in Greece already this is only adding insult to injury.

Storm To Hit New England Becoming Deadly

Arctic Amplification-To be explained here without deniers lying to cover up the truth about it.

  1. We got a little over 8 inches here in Nebraska and I guess we're slated for another 2-4 inches 2moro into monday. I'm trying to keep a positive thought that maybe this moisture now will mean a better growing season this summer. I seriously feel for you and your 'neighbors' since you have had a truly horrible winter. Are you staying at least decently warm, and do you have enough to eat? Do you have a car or do you use the subway? I have been on the subway in NYC and DC, and of course in Paris and London (used to have an umbrella that I bought in London that had the 'Tube' map on it ... lost it in our house fire 3 years ago.
I went out wedn afternoon and bought groceries so I wouldn't have to go out again until this is over, but the roads around my house are clear and we have a 4-wheel-drive so I can get out if I have to.
